BRECKENRIDGE, Colo.—A Summit County sheriff’s deputy has been treated for minor injuries and released from a hospital after accidentally shooting herself in the leg.
Sheriff’s officials say the shooting occurred about 5:20 p.m. Wednesday during a routine pistol training class at the Summit County Public Firing Range. The range has one area for public use and another for law enforcement training.
The deputy was taken to St. Anthony’s Summit Medical Center.
Her name has not been released. An internal investigation is under way.
