The winner: Maria C. Martinez, Taos, N.M.: Located in Antonito, on the corner of 10th Avenue and State Street, it’s called by locals “Cano’s Castle,” and made with cans and bottles by a highly decorated Vietnam veteran, Dominic Cano Espinoza. He made the castle for Jesus Christ and for world peace. He jogs every day and has a pet goat who sometimes wanders through Antonito. He also has a horse. Cano is a very intelligent and caring person who is well known by everyone in town. I grew up a few blocks away from his home.
