DENVER—A house that uses almost zero energy? Colorado’s governor is heading to it Saturday to see for himself.
Gov. Bill Ritter is touring a home in northwest Denver that claims to be among the state’s most energy efficient.
From water-stingy toilets and electricity-sparing appliances, to flooring and siding made from sustainable materials, the house is green, top to bottom. The builder calls it a “near-zero” house because it uses so little energy.
Ritter will use the occasion to talk about growth opportunities available to Colorado through what he calls the “New Energy Economy.”
