GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A Palisade High School student has been suspended for allegedly trying to send an inappropriate e-mail from a school computer.

Principal Matt Diers says the student was suspended Monday for violating School District 51’s technology-use policy because the e-mail contained inappropriate content.

Diers did not elaborate. The Daily Sentinel of Grand Junction reports district policy on inappropriate use of technology includes viewing or sending drug or alcohol-related material, anything pornographic, or material considered racist or hateful.

The unidentified student allegedly attempted to send the message during a computer class, but district e-mail filters caught it before it went out.

Diers says the e-mail did not contain any threats of violence.
