A man who told authorities he is in the United States illegally is being held on a $15,000 bond on a charge of sexually assaulting a child in Eagle County.
Esteban Reyes Corral, 21, of Zacatecas, Mexico, is being held in the Eagle County Jail after his arrest this morning at the home where he was staying.
The assault on the child, whose age or relationship to Corral was not released, occurred around Christmas, investigators said.
Corral is formally charged with sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, a felony.
Corral told investigators that he was in the United States illegally, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has asked that he remain jailed.
