The best men’s college golfers will be at Cherry Hills in June for the Palmer Cup, which is a Ryder Cup-style tournament.
The Palmer Cup pits an eight-man U.S.-born team versus a team of European college players. The event is June 2-5, which is the week after the NCAA Championships at Inverness in Toledo, Ohio.
Cherry Hills is where Arnold Palmer won the 1960 U.S. Open. Cherry Hills currently is closed for renovations and the Palmer Cup will be the first major event after the course reopens around May 1.
The format will be four-ball in the morning of the first day and foursome play in the afternoon then singles matches on the second and third days.
