Getting your player ready...
Next season, volleyball coaches won’t have to be glued to their seats. The rule that kept them seated during matches, save for a dead ball or timeout, has been modified to allowing them to stand “in the replacement zone.” The thinking is, volleyball has become a spectator sport and crowd noise has interfered with coaching. However, you have to wonder how game officials will react to wandering coaches as well as how many coaches will have Wilson tattooed on their foreheads after being drilled by errant spikes. And do they now have the freedom to roam and, well, be a pain like basketball coaches?
