LAKESIDE, Colo.—Police fired on a car they say moved toward them and were searching for a suspect late Saturday.
Officers responding to a call of gunshots fired in Lakeside west of Denver found blood on steps leading into an apartment. They were investigating when the car moved toward them early Saturday.
Jefferson County sheriff’s officials say officers from Lakeside and Wheat Ridge fired on the car, hitting it at least twice.
It was unclear whether the suspect was injured.
Investigators were at St. Anthony’s Central Hospital seeking to question a man who sought treatment for a gunshot wound to the knee.
Five people inside the apartment were taken into custody by a SWAT team shortly after the shooting and a stolen car was later found in Denver. Two people from the apartment remained in custody late Saturday on unrelated warrants.
