Weld County SWAT officers fired tear gas and found a wanted man hiding under his bed Sunday night near Evans, said Undersheriff Margie Martinez.
Nick Label, 23, lived in the mobile home at the time he was accused of shooting another man in a botched drug deal Dec. 6, Martinez said.
On Saturday night, Label led police on a car chase, crashed his vehicle into a fence and ran away in Greeley. A bomb squad removed a small explosive device from the car.
Label was wanted on numerous warrants, including ones related to the shooting of 33-year-old Phillip Romero in the leg and stomach Dec. 6. His criminal record includes charges of marijuana cultivation, domestic violence and weapon- and alcohol-related charges.
