Control of the Denver Prep League will be determined Saturday, when two-time defending Class 5A Colorado champion East meets undefeated George Washington at 2:30 p.m. at the Thunderdome. The decades-long basketball rivalry that was heightened when the city facility at Manual was built in the early 1990s comes with the bonus of playing for one of the 5A playoff bracket’s top four seeds. Strongman and University of Colorado football recruit DaVaughn Thornton lead East; versatile forward Thomas Bropleh heads GW.
