A carload of people took off running after their vehicle hit a house last night in Wheat Ridge, and two of them were later arrested.
Police from several jurisdictions rounded them up within 45 minutes of the crash at West 49th Avenue and Harlan Street.
No one was seriously injured, said Lisa Stigall, spokeswoman for the Wheat Ridge Police Department.
The incident happened at 9:45 p.m. Arriving officers found a silver Ford Thunderbird that had been driving too fast and missed the turn from 49th onto Harlan. It slid though a fence and hit the house, causing about $4,000 worth of damage, Stigall said today in a news release.
The two men and two juveniles in the Thunderbird took off.
While Wheat Ridge, Mountain View and Lakeside officers were investigating, they heard about a fight that broke out in the 4800 block of Harlan, which is in Denver. They went there and found the four people from the Ford.
While they were being questioned, passenger Jesse Aguilar, 18, kicked a Mountain View officer, police said.
Aguilar was arrested on suspicion of assault on a peace officer, among other counts.
The driver, Jorge Alcala, 20, faces charges including reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
Alcala and Aguilar are being held at the Jefferson County Jail on $10,000 bail.
