NEWARK, N.J. — A television network airing a reality series on federal drug agents in Newark said Thursday that it will respond to protests from state and local officials by changing promotional ads that refer to Newark as “one of the most dangerous cities in America.”
The radio ads promote “DEA,” a Spike TV series scheduled to begin Tuesday that follows federal narcotics agents as they pursue suspects in Newark and elsewhere in northern New Jersey. The ads have been pulled until the wording is modified, said Spike TV spokeswoman Debra Fazio-Rutt.
