If beauty is among the primary aims in creating fishing flies, then it stands to reason that it also should be among the requirements for the books written about them.
Such is the case with “Tying Dry Flies: How to Tie and Fish Must-Have Trout Patterns,” among the latest in a flurry of fine — and highly attractive — books on the subject.
Composed by Jay Nichols, the book comes with a local angle. Charlie Craven of Arvada’s Charlie’s FlyBox shop is among three featured fly-tyers. The others are Paul Weamer and Mike Heck.
Published by Stackpole Books, it costs $24.95 and is available in many fly shops.
