He shot how many?

On Jan. 30, Gilpin County’s Matt Hardy had a final line that read: 8 20-27 38. Sure, the 38 points were impressive. But 27 free-throw attempts? It got us to wondering where that ranks. According to CHSAA’s records, Elizabeth’s Andy Yockey went to the line 30 times in a game in 1978. Hardy’s 27 is good for third.

In stark contrast:

On Friday night in Kit Carson’s 69-37 victory over Cheraw, the teams combined to shoot just six free throws.

Perfect 10:

Heritage’s Liz Little went 10-for-10 from the free-throw line in Tuesday’s 66-60 loss to Chaparral.
