MONTROSE, Colo.—A Ridgway man accused in the death of a man whose burned body was discovered near a landfill is due back in court next month after waiving formal arraignment on a first-degree murder charge.
Thirty-seven-year-old Jeremy Hodges appeared in Montrose County District Court on Monday but waived his arraignment in the death of Steven Kublin. The body of the 50-year-old Kublin was found burned on a trail near a Montrose landfill in November 2006.
Public defender Harvey Palefsky says he’s still reviewing a report from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, and is also in discussions with prosecutors. He told the court that the defense would be ready to “enter into a resolution or set this for trial” at the next hearing.
The case was continued until March 9.
