Getting your player ready...

MIAMI — Nuggets coach George Karl is cautiously optimistic about tonight’s game against the Miami Heat.

Asked what concerned him most about the 27-23 Heat, he said:

“Good home court. They play well here. Dwyane Wade wins games.

“I like their youthful enthusiasm. It seems like their young kids are getting more responsibility from the last time we played them. They always defend you. I think Pat Riley, as long as he’s been associated with any organization his defensive influence will always be a part of the team, a part of what will happen tonight.”

The Nuggets beat Miami earlier this season, but the Heat have been good at home. Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony says he’s happy to see his friend, Wade, healthy and playing well this season.

“Knowing the season the team had last year, and him dealing with injuries,” Anthony said. “For him to come back the way he did when people doubted him, we’re excited about that.”

Denver is coming off their worst loss of the season, a 114-70 drubbing by the Nets in New Jersey on Saturday.
