Police think an Arvada location is among the AT&T stores in five states that together have been scammed out of more than $70,000 in goods.

A man used a phony prepaid debit card to buy three iPhones, two iTunes gift cards and iPhone accessories at the store at 5131 Kipling St. on Dec. 16.

The suspect later sold at least some of the items locally on Craigslist, similar to scams in Florida, Alabama, Oklahoma and Utah.

He is described as black with a light complexion and about 5-foot-7. Witnesses judged him to be about 20 years old. He had a goatee and was “neatly dressed.”

The man may have been traveling in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Anyone with information is asked to call Arvada police at 720-898-6900.
