GREELEY, Colo.—Fire damage to a Great Western Railway bridge has forced the temporary closure of an 80-mile line connecting Greeley, Windsor, Fort Collins, Loveland, Johnstown and Longmont.

The bridge is northwest of Greeley. The fire was reported Monday.

Mike Ogborn, managing director of Great Western parent Omnitrax Inc., says it will take at least seven weeks to get materials before repairs can start.

Ogborn says the railroad is working with its customers to find alternate transportation.

Omnitrax is based in Denver.
