DENVER—A Denver ice cream maker has recalled two varieties because of potential salmonella contamination related to peanut butter from Peanut Corp. of America.

Liks Ice Cream Parlor Inc. said Wednesday it has recalled its Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup and Vanilla Peanut Butter Cup ice cream. Liks said the recall is voluntary and no reports of illness have been linked to its ice cream.

Liks says it has notified its wholesale customers of the recall. The ice cream was also sold at 12 retail stores:

Breckenridge: Clint’s Bakery & Coffeehouse, 131 S. Main.

Centennial: Boardwalk Ice Cream, 5270 E Arapahoe Road; Liks Ice Cream, 5270 E. Arapahoe Road.

Denver: Buzz Fill’er Up Cafe, 1299 East 6th Ave.; Common Grounds, 3484 West 32nd Ave.; Daily Dish, 1438 East 22nd Ave.; Liks Ice Cream, 2039 E. 13th Ave.; Perk Hill Coffee, 2202 Kearney St., Sam’s No. 3, 1500 Curtis; Suzy Q’s, 709 16th St.

Idaho Springs: Skipper’s Ice Cream, 1501 Miner.

Salida: Paigerella’s Ice Cream, 609 F St.

Peanut Corp. of America’s Georgia plant has been linked to a nationwide salmonella outbreak that has sickened 600 people and may be tied to eight deaths.
