MANITOU SPRINGS — Classes are canceled for the day at Manitou Springs High School and Manitou Springs Middle School due to an alleged safety and security issue.
But District 14 Superintendent Roy Crawford says officials are now “very comfortable that the campus is safe and secure.”
Crawford issued a letter Wednesday saying high school principal Rob Cody received information about an alleged security and safety matter, but no details were released. Crawford says the district conferred with police and determined it was best not to have students on site during the investigation.
The district posted a message on its Web site and sent an e-mail to parents Tuesday notifying families of the cancellation.
Classes at other district schools are being held as scheduled.
