DENVER—Denver police said Wednesday there is insufficient evidence to seek charges against a woman accused of stealing narcotic painkillers and a pump device from an unconscious Marine and Iraq vet who was in a hospital for surgery.
Linda Coulimore, 59, was taken into custody Jan. 30 in Weld County after detectives obtained a warrant for her arrest on charges of assault on an at-risk adult. She has since bonded out of jail.
Investigators thought they were able to identify Coulimore as the woman seen on surveillance photos Jan. 28 at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center. Detectives think the woman in the photos entered the patient’s room and removed his pain pump.
Authorities released the photos to the public and received tips suggesting the woman was Coulimore. Detectives investigated the case and determined they didn’t have enough evidence to pursue charges against her.
Coulimore did not immediately return a call to her home seeking comment Wednesday night.
Police said the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call 720-913-2000.
