DENVER—U.S. Senator Mark Udall is visiting a Longmont solar panel manufacturer on Saturday to kick off what he’s calling a Colorado Workforce Tour.
Udall will speak with workers at the AVA Solar plant to emphasize how federal support for green energy can create jobs.
AVA Solar employs 175 people and plans to expand this year once it begins commercial production. Its solar panel technology was developed at Colorado State University with help from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden.
