A fast-approaching storm expected Saturday evening from Utah will drop up to an additional 3 to 6 inches of snow on the mountains west of Denver and on the plains, forecasters said Saturday.

The weather statewide will remain “cloudy and unstable the next few days,” according to Kyle Fredin, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.

Beginning Sunday drier weather will return to Colorado through Monday, but another approaching storm from the west may bring more snow to the mountains beginning Tuesday through Wednesday.

Cloudy but drier weather is expected to last through next Friday, Weather Service officials said.
