Now that the top job in town is filled, residents are turning their attention to other prominent positions in Washington. On Sunday, 47 contenders for the office of Washington Nationals racing presidents took the field at Nationals Park. The racing part of the job requires strength of limb and fleetness of foot — all the while wearing a 45-pound costume. On Monday, the mascots made a holiday visit to Long Island, N.Y., for the Islanders-Penguins game.
