TUCSON, Ariz.—Josh Fogg is hoping to land a starting job with the Colorado Rockies — and to have some fun again, too.
He’s back with the Rockies after being a pivotal part of the starting rotation during Colorado’s run to the 2007 World Series. The ninth-year veteran signed a minor league deal that puts him into contention to win Colorado’s final starting rotation spot.
Fogg has done the job for the Rockies before, going 21-18 over two seasons. But last year, the right-hander struggled to a 2-7 record and a 7.58 ERA for the Cincinnati Reds.
Now, he’s competing against the likes of Franklin Morales, Greg Smith, Jason Hirsh and Greg Reynolds.
Fogg has a career record of 62-67.
