Getting your player ready...

Colorado Mammoth transition player Nenad Gajic will have microfracture surgery to repair an injured ankle, the National Lacrosse League team announced Wednesday. The second-year player from Nebraska-Omaha finished with a goal and an assist in all five games this season.

Gajic will be replaced on the roster by Tim Booth.

Also, Mammoth’s Tyler Crompton earned NLL rookie-of-the-week honors after scoring two goals in Saturday’s win over Calgary.

Rapids sign two.

The Rapids signed forward Omar Cummings and defender Ugo Ihemelu to four-year contracts. Cummings was the team’s second-leading scorer in 2008. Ihemelu started 16 of the 18 matches.

Adams State hires Osmon.

Adams State has named Alamosa native and Cattails Golf Course assistant pro Jay Osmon to coach the men’s golf team, which resumes play this fall after a three-year hiatus.

Osmon won two state titles at Alamosa High School and was an assistant for ASC from 2000-04, when the Grizzlies won two Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference titles and qualified for three NCAA Division II Tournaments.
