A two-day, two-game road trip through California and Canada started poorly for the Colorado Mammoth, which lost 14-9 to the San Jose Stealth on Saturday night.
San Jose (3-4) erased an early deficit by scoring six consecutive goals in the second period for an 8-5 halftime lead.
The Stealth’s Colin Doyle led all scorers with two goals and seven assists.
Colorado (4-3), which led 5-2 after Brian Langtry’s goal early in the second period, fell into a second-place tie with Portland in the National Lacrosse League West. The Mammoth’s offense was held without a goal for 19 minutes during the second half.
Langtry (three goals, two assists) and Gavin Prout (five assists) led the Mammoth, which plays at Edmonton today, with five points apiece.
