Forest Oil Corp. posted a $1.4 billion loss Monday for its fourth quarter, after it wrote down the value of its oil and gas properties. The $14.50 per share loss compared with a profit of $27.6 million or 31 cents per share in the comparable period of 2007.
Excluding the $1.5 billion impairment charge for its properties and other items, the Denver-based company would earned $30.6 million or 32 cents per share. Revenue for the quarter was $281.3 million.
