The Milwaukee Street Tavern, 201 Milwaukee St., wants all you tired servers and cooks to drop in for a cold one during restaurant week. The Industry 5280 special for all restaurant staff features a $5.280 hamburger and side, pitcher of Blue Moon or Coors Light for $5.280, or a pint of Blue Moon or Coors Light with a shot of Jager for $5.280. They will work hard for their money that week and need their own deal.

I loved Taki’s place, his food always was fresh, tasty, and he was always friendly. My littlest loved the edamame when we went and still loves it when I make it at home. She remembers the man who first gave it to her too, little kindnesses like that aren’t soon forgotten, even when you are young. I hope that Taki’s will stay the same even though the man has moved on. I’m gonna go home and have a big cup of miso.

Taki’s Golden Bowl manager Patty Coutts says she plans to keep the restaurant open after owner Hisashi Takimoto’s death. It is located at 341 E. Colfax Ave.
