DENVER—Colorado Bureau of Investigation Director Ronald C. Sloan has appointed David Linnertz as assistant director of the bureau’s Grand Junction regional field office.

The appointment is effective next week.

The bureau says the position is new and reflects an increased level of service to West Slope law enforcement agencies.

Linnertz has more than 28 years of law enforcement experience, retiring as a deputy chief at the Aurora Police Department in 2002. For the past seven years, he has served as a law enforcement training consultant.

CBI’s Grand Junction regional field office opened in July.
