Salsa Bicycles will recall about 8,600 bicycles because of a weak handlebar stem, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Thursday.
The handlebar stems can crack or break, posing a fall hazard to riders. To date, the company has received three reports of the stem breaking with one incident of a rider suffering a broken wrist.
Salsa is a subsidiary of Quality Bicycle Products of Bloomington, Minn.
