As part of the closure of the Rocky Mountain News, the E.W. Scripps Co. announced that its interest in Prairie Mountain Publishing will be transferred to Denver Post owner ap later this year.
The 3-year-old, 50-50 partnership involves Colorado newspapers originally owned by Scripps and MediaNews, including the Boulder Daily Camera, Colorado Daily, Broomfield Enterprise, and the Eastern Colorado Publishing Co. dailies and weeklies. Those include papers in Estes Park, Akron, Brush, Burlington, Julesburg, Sterling, Lamar and Fort Morgan.
Al Manzi, publisher of the Boulder Daily Camera, said Media News chief executive William Dean Singleton will meet this morning with Prairie Mountain Publishing employees.
MediaNews representatives and Singleton have been on the Camera’s board for three years, Manzi said, “so we’ve already had a partnership with them and we will be continuing a good relationship.”
