KUSA-Channel 9 today was named station of the year by the National Press Photographers Association, the 11th time the station has taken the honor for excellence in television photography and editing.

No other station has won the award more than four times.

“The sweetest victories come when the odds are stacked against you,” KUSA vice president and News Director Patti Dennis said in a release. “We’ve all wondered what the changes in our business would bring. Let today’s NPPA Station of the Year win reassure you that the passion and pride that has always been at 9News is as strong and healthy as ever.”

KUSA staffers recognized by the NPPA video photography contest were Dave Delozier, Corky Scholl, Anne Herbst and Ken Mostek.
