DENVER—Kyle Ostrow scored two goals and Patrick Mullen added another as Denver beat St. Cloud State 3-1 in Western Collegiate Hockey Association action Friday night

Denver (20-9-4, 16-7-3 WCHA) killed all four of St. Cloud State’s power-play chances for the win, which gives the Pioneers home ice advantage during the conference playoffs.

St. Cloud State (17-14-2, 12-12-1 WCHA) took an early when Drew LeBlanc scored during a scramble in front Denver’s goal at 12:10 of the first period.

But Denver’s Ostrow tied the game at 8:44 of the second period when slipped a rebound past Huskies’ goalie Jase Weslosky. Mullen’s goal at 2:22 of the third gave Denver the lead, while Ostrow added an insurance goal on a power play with 4:18 remaining.

St. Cloud State goalie Weslosky had 32 saves, while Denver’s Marc Cheverie stopped 25 shots for his 20th win of the season.
