HOUSTON — Laura Pendergest-Holt, the chief investment officer of troubled Stanford Financial Group, was released on $300,000 bond Friday after a court hearing in which she was painted alternately as the scapegoat and as one of the few people who know where millions stolen from investors is hidden. She faces charges that she obstructed the Securities and Exchange Commission’s investigation of the Stanford scandal.
