GREELEY, Colo.—A Greeley man is dead after he lost control of his SUV and crashed in Weld County.

The Colorado State Patrol says 67-year-old Ronald J. Turgeon Jr. was eastbound on Colorado 52 at about 12:25 p.m. Sunday when the 2009 Ford Escape he was driving drifted off the right side of the road near County Road 67.

Trooper Gilbert Mares says the SUV went down an embankment, struck a culvert, went airborne and struck a utility pole before rolling onto its top.

Turgeon was wearing a seat belt but died at the scene from undisclosed injuries.

Authorities say alcohol, drugs and excessive speed are not suspected as contributing factors in the crash.
