DENVER—Republican Rep. Mike Coffman plans to testify Friday at an ethics hearing related to a complaint filed when he was secretary of state.
Coffman’s lawyer says the freshman congressman will speak before the Colorado Independent Ethics Commission.
A watchdog group claims Coffman violated state ethics rules by not stopping an employee in his office from operating a partisan side business while also working with state elections.
Coffman argues the complaint comes from a left-leaning group meant to harass the GOP. But a lawsuit filed by Coffman to stop the ethics hearing was rejected last week by a Denver District Court judge.
