Starter Greg Smith, below, and left-handed setup man Alan Embree were solid, but right-hander Greg Reynolds left fastballs up in the zone again and allowed two home runs.
In the field
Center fielder Ryan Spilborghs easily patrolled the big outfield at Maryvale Park, hauling in two deep flyballs at the wall.
