Brittney Griner is so good at dunking, she has even Shaquille O’Neal’s attention.
The 6-foot-8 high school senior from Houston doesn’t just dunk. With her 86 1/2-inch wingspan — 6 1/2-inches longer than her height — Griner puts it down in a rim-rattling, backboard-shaking, two-handed way.
She has dunked more than 50 times in games this season for Aldine Nimitz, a north Houston school that plays in the highest classification in Texas.
O’Neal told the Associated Press that he met Griner last year and was shocked at how high above the rim she got.
“It would bring a whole new dimension to the women’s game,” O’Neal said.
Griner has signed with Baylor.
