With little effort, the Broomfield girls basketball team won its 37th consecutive game Thursday night, pasting Moffat County 69-29 at the Thunderdome.
The two-time defending champion Eagles (25-0) improved to 79-2 over the past three seasons.
“When you see Anna (Prins) walk in the gym with the (lack of) height that they have, it’s a bit scary,” Broomfield senior Chaundra Sewell said of her 6-foot-6 teammate. “Then they think because we’re tall we can’t run. Then they see we can run and their heart sinks a little bit.”
The Division I-bound trio of Prins, Sewell and Sophia Rhodes combined for 39 points and received ample rest. Since the trio arrived at Broomfield as freshmen, the Eagles are 103-4.

Mesa Ridge 66, Centaurus 50
Sophomore Kaitlyn Mileto hit an NBA-length 3-pointer, banked in another trey and sank one more from just a few steps inside half-court to cap her 15-point third quarter as Mesa Ridge won at the World Arena in Colorado Springs.
“I shoot the ball, and really, that’s my strength,” said Mileto, who finished with 25 points. “If my teammates are open, obviously I’m going to get them the ball. But if I’m open for a shot, I’m going to put it down for them.”
The second-seeded Grizzlies (22-3) first relied on guard Brandi Collins (nine points), then the inside dominance of Leanndra Gilbert (10 rebounds) before Mileto caught fire.

Mullen 63, Thompson Valley 31
After sleepwalking through the first quarter, the lights came on for Mullen at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland. Mullen (21-4) trailed 14-10 after the first quarter but went on a 16-0 run to start the second.

Longmont 56, Conifer 45
The Trojans snapped Conifer’s 19-game winning streak behind the outside accuracy of senior leader Kelly Bond. Longmont (22-2) got a lift right before halftime as guard Jamie Katuna scored six unanswered points in the final 1:40 for a 28-15 lead.
“We knew we had to jump on them early. The great start really helped,” Longmont coach Jay Darien said.

Glenwood Springs 56, Pueblo East 52
Demons sophomore Kenzie Kuhn scored seven straight points near the end of the game to rally past the Eagles and complement the 28-point effort by teammate Katrina Selsor.
“They were really focusing on Katrina, so they kind of left me open and it worked,” Kuhn said. Selsor had eight 3-pointers and added 16 rebounds.
