AURORA — Police are investigating a scuffle Wednesday between a student and the principal at North Middle School.

“There was an incident involving a student and a principal, and we have reported that to police,” Aurora Public Schools spokeswoman Paula Hans said.

The principal is Gerardo de la Garza, who was at school Thursday, Hans said. She referred further questions to police.

Aurora police Detective Bob Friel said that, at this point, the student is the focus of the investigation, potentially facing trespassing and assault and battery charges.

“We haven’t recommended any charges to the district attorney’s office yet,” he said.
