A Westminster man arrested at a Boulder topless bar as a car-theft suspect also has been accused of an armed holdup at a pizza parlor.

Derek C. Jordan was arrested Feb. 24 at a strip club in Boulder after police found a car stolen out of Westminster in the club’s parking lot.

Jordan, of Westminster, was taken into custody at the Bus Stop Gentleman’s Club in the 4800 block of Broadway Street, Boulder police said.

Earlier that night, a Papa Murphy’s pizza shop at 659 S. Broadway St. was robbed.

Investigators began looking at Jordan in the robbery after receiving a tip that he was wearing clothing similar to the pizzeria-heist suspect, police said.

The tipster told police that Jordan had stolen a car about an hour and 45 minutes before the robbery and that he was wearing a plaid shirt and a baseball cap.

The robbery occurred at about 7:40 p.m., police said.

A lone robber walked into the pizza shop, flashed what appeared to be a handgun and ordered an employee onto the floor. The gunman ordered another employee to hand over the cash in the register. No one was injured in the holdup.

As Jordan was being held on suspicion of car theft, investigators showed the pizza-shop robbery victims and another witness a photo lineup of suspects, and Jordan was picked out, police said.

He was booked on suspicion of aggravated robbery on Wednesday, police said.
