Denver school officials continue to hold community meetings to find out what people want from their schools and how the district can address students’ diverse needs and to introduce the district’s new schools process.
“It’s the first attempt of finding out what kinds of schools our various communities are wanting,” said Jeannie Kaplan, a school board member who attended last week’s meeting in northwest Denver.
Today’s meeting will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 3701 Colorado Blvd., in northeast Denver.
The district has also set up a new schools office and developed a process for people to submit proposals for new DPS programs.
An applicant information session will be held Monday and interested applicants are asked to submit a letter of intent by Friday.
