Energy giant ConocoPhillips has pledged $1 million to the Colorado School of Mines to support the construction of Marquez Hall, a new campus facility.
The company also plans to increase its annual support for its SPIRIT Scholars Program, and several departments and academic programs at the school with a commitment of $400,000 this year.
The school, so far, has raised more than $22 million toward the $25 million private-funding goal for Marquez Hall, which will house the school’s petroleum-engineering department.
