An unexpected rise in the temperature of a star camera in the navigation system of NASA’s Mars Odyssey has postponed Tuesday’s rebooting of the orbiter’s computer.
The rebooting was planned to deal with potential memory problems on the $151 million spacecraft.
The Mars Odyssey team, which includes personnel from Lockheed Martin Space Systems in south Jefferson County, decided to hold off on the rebooting until there is a better understanding of what caused the temperature increase.
