FORT COLLINS — The Fort Collins Coloradoan says its newspaper will be printed and delivered by the Denver Newspaper Agency starting May 12, resulting in about 48 layoffs at the Coloradoan.

The Denver Newspaper Agency presses also print The Denver Post and the Boulder Daily Camera.

The Coloradoan is owned by McLean, Va.- based Gannett Co., the nation’s largest newspaper chain. Gannett also owns USA Today, more than 80 other daily newspapers and 23 television stations, including KUSA-Channel 9 in Denver.
