AURORA, Colo.—Police say alcohol and failure to use a seat belt were contributing factors in a one-vehicle rollover that killed an Aurora woman.

Authorities say 25-year-old Tonya Sanders was a passenger in a 1997 Kia Sportage that struck a curb along South Blackhawk Street in Aurora at about 9:20 p.m. Thursday.

The SUV slid sideways and rolled, ejecting Sanders. She died at the scene.

The driver, 23-year-old Kimberly Meza, and a second passenger were treated and released from a nearby hospital. Officers then arrested Meza on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and vehicular homicide.

The name of the second passenger was not released.

Meza is being held at the Arapahoe County jail.
