TORONTO — Avalanche forward Cody McCormick has been suspended two games without pay for high-sticking in a game against Minnesota.

The NHL announced the discipline on Friday.

McCormick was assessed a double minor for high-sticking Wild forward Cal Clutterbuck midway through the second period of the Avs’ 2-1 shootout victory on Thursday.

McCormick will forfeit $5,618.28 and miss Colorado’s games at Edmonton on Saturday and at Vancouver on Sunday.

He’ll be eligible to return Tuesday when the Avalanche face the Wild in Minnesota.
