PUEBLO, Colo.—DeLovell Earls scored 30 points to lead the Colorado Springs School to a 66-41 win over Meeker in a Class 2A state semifinal boys game Friday night Colorado State University-Pueblo’s Massari Arena.

The 6-foot Earls, a junior, also grabbed 16 rebounds and had seven assists.

Earls says his team got out and ran on offense and “just played Kodiak basketball.”

The Kodiaks, who are making their inaugural appearance in the state boys basketball tournament, took a commanding 33-19 lead at half and were never threatened in the second half.

Colorado Springs School coach Dave Cortez says his team’s defensive pressure made the difference, and Earls “had a great game for us.”
