University of Colorado record-setting long distance star and Olympian (steeplechase, Beijing) Jenny Barringer set yet another record Saturday in winning the 3,000-meter run at the NCAA indoor track and field championships in College Station, Texas.
Barringer finished in a NCAA-record 8 minutes, 42.03 seconds, the fourth-best time in the world in 2009.

Anthony Luna became Metro State’s first track and field champion — indoor or outdoor — when he won the 800 meters at the NCAA Division II indoor championships in Houston.
Mammoth ends slide.
The Colorado Mammoth (5-4) snapped a two-game losing streak and ended San Jose’s three-game home winning streak with a 14-11 victory at HP Pavilion.

Eagles win.
Greg Pankwicz had a hat trick, and Kevin Ulanski and Riley Nelson each scored twice as the Colorado Eagles clobbered Amarillo 9-0 in a Central Hockey League game in Loveland. Goalie Morgan Cey stopped 39 shots.
Rage falls to Tulsa.
The Rocky Mountain Rage surrendered four goals in the third period to force overtime and fell to the Tulsa Oilers 6-5 at the Broomfield Event Center.
